The reason I have P2 is that it was the only serious solid-state option at the time. Whichever way you look at it, and for all its promise, P2 is a P.I.T.A. On top of that, Panasonic then charges premium prices for P2 (PCMCIA) related gear because it is pretty much the ONLY way to access the P2 card content - other than the above mentioned Dual Adapters etc., which now turn out to be non-Snow Leopard compatible. It just annoys me that Panasonic chose the PCMCIA format just as everyone else was dumping it and going for the Express Card format, so that the convenient and no doubt intended 'slot-straight-into-the-laptop' ease of use principle did not last but a couple of years because, starting with Apple, all laptop manufacturers dropped the aged and comparatively slow PCMCIA format for the newer, quicker Express slots. The project that includes the P2 Panasonic is well past $130,000 of investment so far. I don't mind spending money but I also don't like being taken for a ride. I appreciate that what I have said appears a little cheapskate.
